Efrén Tarango
Efren Tarango is a graduate student at Texas Tech University pursuing a Master of Science in Architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation and Design through the Huckabee College of Architecture’s extension program in El Paso, Texas.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Efren brings the discipline, dedication, and leadership he cultivated during his service to his academic and professional pursuits. With more than 20 years of experience in education, he has worked as a teacher, regional consultant, central office administrator, and campus administrator—consistently championing student success and workforce readiness.
His work in Career and Technical Education (CTE) includes close collaboration with the Texas Workforce Commission, expanding access to work-based learning and aligning educational pathways with regional workforce needs.
Efren’s decision to study architecture reflects his vision to merge his background in education and history with his passion for design and historic preservation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History (minor in Mathematics) and an MBA in International Business, both from the University of Texas at El Paso.
